Nothing much going on

Other than taking the boat out and roleplaying...I've not been doing a damn thing. Color me boring. :)

Gotta admit though .....the boat is WAY COOL!!! We didn't get to take it out this weekend because Mike is taking his daughter to her new college. Dang it. How dare real life interfer with our fun!

Last weekend we were sailing and almost capsized. What a hoot. Here I was...sitting there steering and holding on to my rope...the one attached to the yard. The wind caught the sail just right and we almost went over. I held onto my rope AND the tiller and leaned against the way we were going. Meanwhile the 2 men almost freaked out. LOL The water was pouring into the side of the boat and I only had two words to say. Of course these words resounded from hill to hill. Oh...the words? "OHHHHHH SHIT". :)

Mike told me to steer to the shore. No problem. We were getting close and I told the guys that we needed to stop. "No...Just keep going Strid." "But...guys.." "Just do it Strid." Okay.....I say, who am I to argue with the Mate in charge, and kept going. We got closer and I told the guys to ready the oars to stop. Then it dawned on me - they didn't need to. So...I say..."ready oars ....bring in" They did and I said...."Stop"....which we immediately did....on a mud bank in the water. LOL LOL Well.....I tried to tell them. :)

I got some kayaking in too. A couple of friends brought their kayaks along and I had to try them out. That was major fun too! Well...once I figured out how to get the darn thing to go the way I wanted it to anyway.

We discussed going white water kayaking. I agreed. Sounds like fun to me!
